How do I register?
- You can register online;

What is the deadline for registration?
- The deadline for online registration is midnight Oct. 8th.

How do I know if I am registered?
Click on the “CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION HERE” icon on the homepage of the website.
Can I switch from one event to another?
Yes, all changes can be made at the Health & Fitness Expo.
I did not receive a Confirmation Card?
You can check your registration status at our website or at the Health & Fitness Expo. We can make any changes required at the Expo.
Can I register and/or pick up my race packet on race day?
No, there is absolutely no race day registration or packet pick-up.
What are the minimum age requirements?
- The recommended minimum age for the marathon is 15 years old.
- There is no age limit for the other events.
When and where can I pick up my race packet?
It is mandatory for everyone participating to pick up you race packet, t-shirt and bib at the Health & Fitness Expo on Oct 10th and Oct 11th. Click here for more info.
Can someone else pick up my Race Packet?
Yes, someone else can pick up your registration materials if you cannot attend if they bring a copy of your driver's license or photo i.d. (This is mandatory for us to confirm we are giving the timing chip and bib to the correct person).
There is absolutely NO race day registration or packet pick-up.
Do you mail out the race bibs?
No, you must attend the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday to pick up your race bib and timing chip. If you cannot attend, you may send a family member/friend to pick these items up for you.

What is the Group Discount Policy?
Groups of 20 or more qualify for a $5.00 per person discount if they send in their registration forms in one package and pay the total amount in one check.
Please have each participant complete their own registration form, and if under 18 have their parent / guardian sign the form. Once all forms are complete, please send us the completed applications with a check for the total number signing up less the $5.00 per person discount. What is your refund policy?
There are absolutely no refunds. Should you not be able to participate, we will provide a credit for the 2009 event.
Race Questions
How many people are expected to participate?
We are anticipating 18,000 participants for all events.
What time do the races start?
6:00 am Bike Tour 6:15 am Marathon Walkers 7:25 am Wheelchairs/Handcycles 7:30 am Marathon & Half-Marathon 8:30 am 5K Run / Walk 9:00 am Kids 1 Mile Fun Run
Can I start a race late?
No late starts will be allowed. Participants will not be permitted to start late after the race has begun.
Where are the water stations?
Water stations are located at approximately every mile starting at mile 2.
What is the on-course entertainment?
We have on entertainment and bands throughout the course.
What is the Official Gel and Energy Drink?
Clif Shot Energy Gel will be available at two locations on the race course at mile 10 and mile 20 to give you the extra boost during the race! POWERade will be the official energy drink on the course (water stations at even mile markers starting at mile 4) and at the finish line.
What is the timing system?
We use the ChampionChip timing system.
Do you offer prize money?
We have prize money for the Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Wheelchair divisions. Go to each event page for more details.
Do you have age/division awards?
Yes, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age/sex division for Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 5K. Awards will not be given out on race day, but will be mailed out to the winners following the event.
What medical support is provided?
Over 200 professionals from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital will be staffing Eight Medical Aid Stations along the Course.
Look for the Red Shirts on the course if you need any assistance!
Where are the medical aid stations located?
The medical aid stations are located at miles 9, 11, 12/14/23, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 and the Finish Line.
What is the elevation of the course?
The highest elevation on the course is 45’ which is on the Queensway Bridge between miles 2-3. There is a short hill between miles 11 & 12 in the Belmont Heights neighborhood. At mile 18 runners go over the freeway overpass in a low-grade hill.
Is this race a qualifier?
The Long Beach International City Bank Marathon can be used as a qualifier for any marathon in the country, including the Boston Marathon.
Do you provide a Pace Team?
The Road Runner Sports Pace Team will be providing pacers for both the full and half marathon. For more information click here.
Can I walk in an event?
Yes, you can walk the Marathon (note the 6:15 early start time), the Half-Marathon or the 5K Run / Walk.
Is there an early start for marathon walkers?
To make sure all participants meet the course time limits set by the city of Long Beach, Marathon "walkers" will have an early start time at approximately 6:15am. Once the last cyclist in the Bike Tour has crossed the starting line, we will call all walkers to the line to get their head start. Please note: Half Marathon "walkers" will start at 7:30am since they have 6.5 hours to complete their course.
What is the course time limit?
- The race time limit is 7.5 hours for all events.
Where is the race Start and Finish Line?
The Starting Line is located on Shoreline Drive West of Linden. The Finish Line is on Shoreline Drive East of Linden.
Is part of the course actually on the sand?
No, the course continues along the beach on a bike path with sand on either side. You will not be running in the actual sand.
Will there be refreshments at the Finish Line?
There will be plenty of refreshments for all participants and food and beverage for sale adjacent to the entertainment stage.
Where are the Port-a Pottie Locations?
Port-a-Potties are conveniently located in Rainbow Lagoon Park at the Starting Line, the Marina Green at the Finish Line Festival, and throughout the marathon course beginning at Mile 2. There are also public restrooms along the bike path, Pierpoint Landing, Marina Vista Park , Marine Stadium, and Recreation Park.
Do you offer Personal Item Storage?
Personal item storage is available on the north side of Shoreline Drive and Linden between the Start and Finish lines. We do not recommend that you store any valuables.
Can I enter two events?
It is very unlikely that anyone can participate in more than one event. However, in some cases, Triathletes have completed the Marathon Bike Tour and then ran the Marathon, Half-Marathon or 5K. Starting times may make this difficult if not impossible to complete. To get an official time, participants must be registered for each event.
Where do I park?
The best parking is at the Long Beach Convention Center at a rate of $8. Visit the Parking & Directions page for more info.
When and where can I see my race results?
You can see your race results at the Race Results Tent at the Finish Line Festival or online at our website: www.runlongbeach.com.
What if my race results are incorrect?
Please email results@rccal.com.
Do you provide finisher's certificates after the event?
We do not provide finisher's certificates after the event.
What if I forgot to return my timing chip?
- You will be charged $20 for not returning your timing chip.
- For a refund, you can mail your timing chip to: Race Central, 229 South Olive Ave., Rialto, CA 92376
Are strollers allowed on the course?
- Yes, we just ask that you start at the back of the pack for safety issues.
Do you have a family reunion area?
- Yes, Marina Green is our designated festival and reunion area. The best places to meet your family/friends are the beer garden and the entertainment stage. It is not recommended that your loved ones meet you outside of the Post Food & Fluid area as this is usually very congested.

Who is the Official photographer?
Race photos will be taken by Brightroom. You can view your photos after the race at www.brightroom.com.
How can I volunteer for the event?

Resident Questions
How can I support or get involved with the race?
We encourage residents to get involved with the race in a number of ways. You can join the “Race Team” by signing up on our Volunteer Page and help out in a various positions.
Also, residents along the course can come out and cheer on the runners, play music or even join one of the waterstations to provide support for the participants.
