Breathtaking Course
- The 5K begins on Shoreline Drive and heads west past the new Pike at Shoreline Village and then loops back around to Chestnut Avenue.
- Then the course turns south onto Aquarium Way heading towards the waterfront making a loop at the end of the palm tree-lined street with a excellent view of the Queen Mary. The home stretch winds around the Aquarium's dolphin fountain before heading east on Shoreline Drive to the finish line.
- Finish on Shoreline and enter the Beach Party Finish Line Festival.

5th Annual Police vs. Fire 5K Run Challenge
 Support the Long Beach Police and Long Beach Fire Departments as they face off in the 7th Annual Police vs. Fire 5K Run Challenge.
The Fire Department kept the trophy again in 2007 and now leads the series the 4-2!
- The race is open to sworn officers and firefighters, department staff, and families of any Police and Fire department…or anyone who wants to support his or her favorite department!
- The top 10 scores of Long Beach sworn officers and firefighters will be counted for the perpetual Victory Trophy.
Join either "Team Red" or "Team Blue" in this dual meet to raise money for the department charities. A portion of each entry into the Challenge Run will go to team's charity, either the Long Beach Police Officers Memorial Widows Emergency & Scholarship Trust Fund or Friends of Long Beach Firefighters.
Challenge Run participants receive a special race t-shirt that will allow them to easily identify their rivals. You will also have the opportunity to compete for the age group awards in the "open" division of the 5k.

T-Shirt and Goodie Bag
- All 5K participants who register will receive a participant t-shirt and goodie-bag.
- All participants (both pre- and late-registration) must attend the Marathon Expo to pick-up their participant t-shirt, goodie-bag, and timing chip.

- Participants get FREE admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
- Participants also get many other discounts and special offers at local restaurants and shops
- Back by popular demand, we're giving away "random prizes and giveaways." Anybody can win regardless of where you finish!
Personal Item Storage
- Personal item storage is available on the north side of Shoreline Drive and Linden between the Start and Finish lines. We do not recommend that you store any valuables.
Timing System
We use a chip timing system for all of our events (excluding the Bike Tour).
- You MUST wear the timing chip on your shoe. NO CHIP, NO TIME! You must also return the chip after the race or be charged $20.00.
- All timing chips, t-shirts and race bibs must be picked up at the Marathon Expo. For more information on the Marathon Expo click here.

Group Discounts
- Groups of 20 or more qualify for a $5.00 per person discount if they send in their registration forms in one package and pay the total amount in one check.
- Please have each participant complete their own registration form, and if under 18 have their parent / guardian sign the form. Once all forms are complete, please send us the completed applications with a check for the total number signing up less the $5.00 per person discount.
