2007 RESULTS

Breathtaking, Fast and Flat Course

• The Long Beach International City Bank Marathon has a course like no other marathon in the country. The highest elevation is only 45 feet, and offers incredible views of the city's coastline and historical landmarks! Visit the Course Section for detailed information.

Head Start for Marathon Walkers!

• To make sure all participants meet the course time limits set by the city of Long Beach, Marathon "walkers" will have an early start time at approximately 6:15am. Once the last cyclist in the Bike Tour has crossed the starting line, we will call all walkers to the line to get their head start. Please note: Half Marathon "walkers" will start at 7:30am since they have 6.5 hours to complete their course.

USATF certified and Official Qualifier

• The Long Beach International City Bank Marathon can be used as a qualifier for any marathon in the country, including the Boston Marathon.
• The course time limit for Marathon & Half Marathon is 7 ½ Hours.

Wheelchair / Handcycle Participants

• In a continuing tradition, we will again offer a race category for wheelchair and handcycle participants.
• This group of athletes will start the race 5 minutes before the runners.
• Please note that the wheelchair division is only offered for the full marathon.
• Awards will be given to the top three finishers.
• All wheelchair/handcycle participants are encouraged to attend the post-race finish line festival.
• There will be no prize money for the handcycle division.

T-Shirt - Finishers Medal and Goodie Bag

• NEW FOR 2008! Marathon and Half Marathon participants who register by August 31 will receive a Technical Fabric running shirt in place of the participant t-shirt at the Marathon Expo.  Click HERE for sizing information.
• All participants who register will receive a participant t-shirt and goodie-bag.
• All finishers in the Marathon, Half Marathon and Bike Tour will receive a beautiful commemorative finisher's medal...a new design each year!
• All participants (both pre- and late-registration) must attend the Marathon Expo to pick-up their participant t-shirt, goodie-bag, and timing chip.
• We do not provide finisher's certificates after the event.

Other Goodies!

• Participants get FREE admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific.
• Participants also get many other discounts and special offers at local restaurants and shops.
• Back by popular demand, we're giving away "random prizes and giveaways." Anybody can win regardless of where you finish!

Personal Item Storage

• Personal item storage is available on the north side of Shoreline Drive and Linden between the Start and Finish lines. We do not recommend that you store any valuables.

2008 Aid Stations

• Aid stations begin at mile 2 and will be located approximately every mile on the course with water and the following amenities at each station:
• Clif Shot Energy Gel will be available at two locations on the race course at mile 10 and mile 20 to give you the extra boost during the race!
• Powerade will be the official energy drink for 2008.  It will be at the water stations located at even-numbered mile markers and in the Post Food and Fluid finishers area.

KOOL ‘N FIT SPORT Spray Station

• As you approach "the wall" between mile 10 and 18, rejuvenate those tired and aching muscles at the KOOL ‘N FIT SPORT Spray Station. The only ALL NATURAL Muscle Conditioning Spray. Medical Stations

	Over 200 professionals from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital will be staffing Eight Medical Aid Stations along the Course. Look for the Red Shirts on the course if you need any assistance!

Timing System

• We use a chip timing system for all of our events (excluding the Bike Tour).
• The system provides overall finishing time and also for two on-course points at Miles 13.3 in Marina Vista Park and at 16.2 at the Yacht Club.
• You MUST wear the timing chip on your shoe. NO CHIP, NO TIME! You must also return the chip after the race or be charged $20.00.
• All timing chips, t-shirts and race bibs must be picked up at the Marathon Expo. For more information on the Marathon Expo click here

Group Discounts

• Groups of 20 or more qualify for a $5.00 per person discount if they send in their registration forms in one package and pay the total amount in one check.
• Please have each participant complete their own registration form, and if under 18 have their parent / guardian sign the form. Once all forms are complete, please send us the completed applications with a check for the total number signing up less the $5.00 per person discount.
