What is the race date for 2014 and beyond?

The 2014 Aquarium of the Pacific Kids Fun Run will take place on 10/11/2014.

The 2014 Long Beach International City Bank Marathon, Half Marathon, Bike Tour and 5K will take place on 10/12/2014.

The 2015 Aquarium of the Pacific Kids Fun Run will take place on 10/10/2015.

The 2015 Long Beach International City Bank Marathon, Half Marathon, Bike Tour and 5K will take place on 10/11/2015.

Registration Questions

How do I register?


  • Registration is now open for 2014!  REGISTER HERE
  • If you would like our Downloadable Registration Form, please contact us at INFO@RUNRACING.COM. Mail it to: Long Beach International City Bank Marathon 10545 Humbolt Street, Los Alamitos, CA 90720 (must be received by September 1st.)

                 Note: Please make all checks or money orders payable to “Run Racing.”

  • You can register in person for any events that are not yet sold out at the Health & Fitness Expo on Oct. 10th and Oct 11th at the Long Beach Convention Center. Please see the EXPO PAGE for more information.

What is the deadline for registration?

  • Online registration will continue until sell out or until midnight Oct. 9th.
  • All mail in registrations must be received no later than September 1st.
  • You can register in person at the Health & Fitness Expo on Oct. 10th and Oct 11th for any event that is not yet sold out.
  • There is absolutely NO Race Day Registration.
  • The Race Day VIP Race Day Pick-up Option is only available to those that purchase the option online before August 31st. The Fee is $25 and allows you to pick your race items up in the morning before your event.

Can I register at the Health & Fitness Expo?

As long as the events have not sold out, you can register in person at the Health & Fitness Expo on Oct. 10th and Oct. 11th.

How do I know if I am registered?

Can I switch from one event to another?

You can switch your event until September 15, 2014. Please contact us to request a transfer. After this date, all transfers must be done at the Health & Fitness Expo. Please note that you would not be able to transfer to a sold out event.


We do not offer refunds for transferring to a less expensive event.

Do you mail bibs?

We will not offer a Bib Delivery option for our 2014 event. However, there will be a Race Day Pick-up option for $25.

Can I register and/or pick up my race packet on race day?

We will offer race day pick-up for a fee to a limited number of those who register before August 31. Please click here to purchase VIP Race Day Pick-up. Otherwise, there is absolutely no race day registration or packet pick-up. All race packets MUST be picked up no later than Saturday, October 11th at 6:00pm.

What are the minimum age requirements?

  • The recommended minimum age for the Full Marathon is 15 years old
  • The Aquarium of the Pacific Kids Fun Run 12 and under
  • There are no age restrictions for the other events

When and where can I pick up my race packet?

It is mandatory for everyone participating to pick up your race packet, t-shirt and bib at the Health & Fitness Expo on Oct 10th and Oct 11th, 2014. Please see the EXPO PAGE on this website for details on the Health & Fitness Expo.

Can someone else pick up my race packet?

Yes, someone else can pick up your registration materials if you cannot attend.  They are only allowed to pick up for two other people. They must bring a copy of your driver’s license or photo I.D., copies of the waiver or ID on phones or other electronic devices will not be accepted. AND A SIGNED COPY OF THE WAIVER FORM (FOUND HERE) (This is mandatory for us to confirm we are giving the correct B -Tag and bib). There is absolutely NO race day registration.

Waiver forms will NOT be available at the Health & Fitness Expo.

Where are the medical aid stations located?

The medical aid stations are located at miles 6.5, 9, 12 14/23,15/21.5,16/20, 18.5, 24/11 and the Finish Line.

Can I walk an event?

Yes, you can walk the Marathon, Half-Marathon and the 5K Run/Walk. Please note the course time limits for each individual event.

How many people are you anticipating running in all events this year?

We are anticipating about 26,000 participants for all events, another record year! Here’s the breakdown of the individual races and their numbers:

Can I start a race late?

For the Bike Tour and the 5k, there will be no late starts allowed.  For the Full and Half Marathons, you will be permitted to start running up to the start of the last wave.

Where are the water stations located?

Water stations are located at approximately every mile starting at mile 2.
Their specific locations are miles 2, 3, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 7.5, 9, 10, 11/23, 12/25, 13, 14/22, 15/21, 16/20, 17, 18, and 19.

Powerade will be served at miles 4.5, 6.5, 9, 11/23, 14/22, 16/20, 18, 24/11.

What is the official gel on the course?

Clif Shot will be the 2014 Official on course gel. It will be provided at Mile 10 for the Full and Half Marathon, as well as Miles 16 and 20 for the Full Marathon runners.

Does the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon offer prize money?

We offer prize money for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and Wheelchair (push rim only) divisions. Visit the Awards and Prizes page for more information.

Does the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon offer age group awards?

Age group awards are three deep for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk. Medals will be mailed out upon request, if they are not picked up on race day.

What medical service is provided on course?

Over 150 professionals from Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children’s Hospital will be staffing seven Medical Aid Stations along the course and the Main Medical Station at the Finish Line.
Look for the Red Shirts on the course if you need any assistance!

What is the elevation of the course?

All events start at sea level. The Full Marathon and Bike Tour rises to 83’ above sea level on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. The Half Marathon rises to 45’ above sea level on the Queensway Bridge. Please check out the elevation chart on the Marathon event page.

Is this race a Boston Qualifier?

The Long Beach International City Bank Marathon can be used as a qualifier for any marathon in the country, including the Boston Marathon.  In fact, our certified and mostly flat course makes a great PR opportunity!

Do you provide a pace team?

The Clf Bar Pace Team will provide pacers for the Full Marathon. The Half Marathon will be paced by a Run Racing team.

What is the course time limit?

The Full Marathon course time limit is 7.5 hours.  The Half Marathon course time limit is 6 hours.

Is part of the course on actual sand?

No, the course continues along the beach on a bike path with sand on either side. You will not be running in the actual sand.

Will there be refreshments at the finish line?

There will be post-race fluids and food provided for all race participants in the Finish Line Festival area.  Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase if you would like additional refreshments or for spectators.

Where are the porta potties located?

100 Port-a-Potties are conveniently located in Rainbow Lagoon Park at the Starting Line, as well as port-a-potties on the Marina Green at the Finish Line Festival, and throughout the marathon course beginning at Mile 2. There are also public restrooms along the bike path, Pierpoint Landing, Marina Vista Park, Marine Stadium, and Recreation Park.

Do you offer personal item storage?

Personal item storage will be available at the UPS Gear Check trucks. Please do not store valuables and make sure to silence your cell phones!

Can I enter two events?

Our new Bike & Run Combo allows you to ride in the bike tour and finish with a 5K or half marathon. Click here for more details.

Where do I park?

The best parking is at the Long Beach Convention Center at a rate of $10.00. Visit the PARKING & DIRECTIONS page for more info on where to park and how best to get to the start of the race in time. And please take advantage of the super-convenient PRE-PAID PARKING option for race day!
PLEASE come early and plan on some traffic getting to the race. You are better off being there early and able to relax before the race than being stuck in traffic and stressing out.

Where can I see my race results?

You can see your race results at the Race Results Tent at the Finish Line Festival or on the RACE RESULTS PAGE on the Long Beach International City Bank Marathon website.

What if my results are incorrect?

Please contact the timing company by visiting the actual Results page and clicking the Results Correction button.

Do you provide a family reunion area?

Yes, Marina Green is our designated Finish Line Festival and reunion area. The best places to meet your family/friends are the beer garden and the entertainment stage (if they are over 21).  Or pre-plan a meeting space in an obvious location.  It is not recommended that your loved ones meet you outside of the Post Food & Fluid area as this is usually very congested.

Do you allow jogging strollers?

Yes, we jogging strollers are allowed. Please allow the faster runners to clear the start line area before starting.
